George Timothy Alward, 74, former Grange Corner Grocer, d. at 11 o'clock Thurs a.m. at his home of a complication of disease. He had been in failing health for several years. B. at Grange Corner, Nov 9, 1862, a s/o Tobias L & Mahala Keller Alward. Mr. A. spent all of his life in Parke Co. He married May E. Gooding 50 years ago. Mr. A. was in the grocery business until his ill health forced him to retire. Surviving are the widow; one son, J. Eston Alward, Grange Corner; one daughter, Mrs. Alfred Clore, near Kingman; two half-bros, John & Frank Alward; two half-sisters, Mrs. Ellen Harrison, Cayuga, and Mrs. Sarah Cotton, Covington; four grandsons; one granddaughter and two great grandsons. Funeral services were held Sat. morning at 10 o'clock at the Wolf Creek Church, S. of Wallace. Burial was in the Wolf Creek Cemetery, adjoining the church.
